Join JStarz Training on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for the inaugural Steve Belinga Memorial Tournament.

Steve was a close friend of JStarz Training and someone who believed in our coaches, our vision, and the positive impact soccer can have within the community. This annual event is being created to celebrate his life, honour his legacy, and bring people together through the game he loved.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Format: 7v7 community tournament
Age: 16+
Theme: Rep Your Nation or Club Team

Teams are encouraged to represent their country, club, community, or create a team in Steve’s honour.

Tournament Structure

Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three group-stage games.

Group Stage

• Three guaranteed games per team
• Each match will be 20 minutes
• Three points for a win
• One point for a draw
• Zero points for a loss

The top-performing teams will advance to the semifinal round.

Group standings will be determined by:

1. Total points
2. Goal difference
3. Goals scored
4. Head-to-head result
5. Tournament tiebreaker, if required

Semifinals

• Semifinal matches will be 30 minutes
• The winners of each semifinal will advance to the championship final
• Tied semifinal matches will be decided by a penalty shootout

Championship Final

• The final will be 55 minutes
• The winner will be crowned the inaugural Steve Belinga Memorial Tournament Champion
• If the final is tied, the championship will be decided by a penalty shootout

Team Registration

Early Bird Registration:
$250 per team before August 15

Regular Registration:
$300 per team after August 15

Registration includes tournament entry, officiating, awards, and participation in the memorial fundraiser.

Spaces are limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

The event will include recognition for:

• Finalists
• Tournament MVP
• Top Goal Scorer
• Top Goalkeeper
• Steve Belinga Sportsmanship Award

Additional prizes, giveaways, and sponsor contributions may be announced before the event.

Supporting Steve’s Family and Our Community

Funds raised through team registrations, donations, and event fundraising activities will contribute to a donation pool supporting Steve Belinga’s family and a selected charitable organization.

Community members who are unable to participate are still welcome to attend, celebrate Steve’s life, and make a donation.
